In its most recent meeting, the Lenggrieser municipal council laid down the allocation guidelines for social funds.

So far, these have not been recorded in writing.

Lenggries –

The municipality of Lenggries has been receiving more and more donations since the 1980s – provided with the purpose “for social purposes”.

From this social fund, "donations would be paid out to the needy as a loan or as a grant, especially if help is needed quickly," explained City Hall Managing Director Tobias Riesch at the most recent meeting of the municipal council.

Although there are also some foundations that the municipality administers, a committee decision must always be made before money can flow.

Sometimes you just can't wait for that.

"There are people who stand here in the middle of the month and say that they need 150 euros to even get to the end of the month," said Riesch.

The decision was unanimous

So far, of course, there have been rules for payments from the social fund, but they were never laid down in writing.

The municipal council has now made up for this by unanimously adopting the allocation guidelines.

Individuals, married couples and families in need of help in the municipality of Lenggries are supported from the social fund.

However, anyone who has not been registered in the Brauneck community for at least two years is only granted support in the form of a loan.

Request for support always in writing

Either way, you must apply for support in writing.

These applications can also be forwarded to the foundations, if support from there is also conceivable.

With an amount of up to 200 euros, the manager or treasurer can decide.

The mayor has to do this for up to 1,000 euros.

For loans, the limits are 500 and 2500 euros.

"There are people in need of help who consciously want a loan and then pay it back with determination," said Riesch.

Everything beyond these amounts must be decided by a committee made up of the mayor, manager or treasurer and the management of the social welfare office.

From an amount of 5000 euros, the matter must go to the main committee.

Nadia Tretter (Greens) wanted to know what the applicant has to disclose in order to receive a grant.

"He has to disclose his income situation," said Riesch.

"But if someone gets Hartz IV, you don't need to investigate much longer, of course." Many cases are uncomplicated to process, "because we accompany some for years".

Roman Haehl (Greens) wanted to know what funds are actually available.

"We currently have almost 30,000 euros," replied Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher (FWG).

The new procurement guidelines will come into force on August 1st.
