After the fires, La Teste-de-Buch faces another challenge: the redevelopment of its coastline.
“A meeting with the city was to take place last Wednesday in order to present an action plan but it was, in fact, canceled”
, confides a real estate adviser, close to the file, who wishes to remain anonymous.
The buildings ravaged by the flames, along the coast, including the five campsites built behind the Dune du Pilat, were to move by 2040. The open-air hotels, condemned by the advance of the dune towards the forest of pines, find themselves more exposed to fires because of climate change.
Will the Flots Bleus campsite return to its place?
“No, I hope so.
We need to engage in discussions to avoid wasting time”
, replies without hesitation Camille André, project manager for coastal risks at the public interest group (GIP) Littoral.
