And in California, a huge oak fire is raging near Yosemite National Park, which started on Friday in the remote mountain areas and is rapidly approaching residential areas.

The fire has so far consumed about 50 thousand dunams as well as dozens of buildings and threatens hundreds of other buildings.

Yesterday the firefighters announced that they managed to contain 0% of the fire.

About 6,000 people were evacuated from their homes.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in Mariposa County on Saturday.

More than 400 firefighters are battling the flames, along with helicopters and other equipment dealing with harsh conditions of hot weather, low humidity and dry vegetation caused by the region's worst drought in decades.
