The Observatory's latest nine-day weather forecast shows that the "cooling" has not yet seen the dawn. From tomorrow (25th) to the 2nd of next month, the daily maximum temperature will be between 33 and 35 degrees, challenging the "longest life" hot weather warning.


The Observatory recorded 36.1 degrees at about 3 pm today, the highest July day in 138 years since records began in 1884. It was 0.4 degrees higher than the 35.7 degrees recorded in 1968. Sheung Shui was as high as 38.7 degrees.

The Observatory predicts that the subtropical high pressure ridge will bring continuous fine and extremely hot weather to southern China for the rest of July, with temperatures generally reaching 35 degrees or above tomorrow.

The Observatory pointed out that under the domination of a subtropical ridge of high pressure, it was generally sunny and extremely hot in southern China. At noon, the temperature in various parts of Hong Kong generally rose to 33 degrees or above.

According to the real-time temperature of the Observatory, at 3:00 pm, Sheung Shui recorded 39.7 degrees, Ta Kwu Ling recorded 38.3 degrees, Tai Long 38 degrees; Shek Kong, Yuen Long Park were 37.8 degrees and 37.6 degrees; Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, Tseung Kwan O, 36 degrees in Shatin and Tuen Mun.

The Observatory predicts that at 3 pm on July 24, Sheung Shui and Ta Kwu Ling will have a temperature of 38 degrees.
