Miesbach - Instead of a company, this time the unsung heroes of the corona pandemic received an award at the business reception of the Miesbach district.

Instead of a business award, in 2022 there was an honorary award for special commitment.

This was closely linked to the topic that had been preventing the business reception of the Miesbach district since 2020: the corona pandemic. It was therefore not a company that received the award, but four people on behalf of many.

However, their actions are to be seen as exemplary – not only from a social but also from an economic point of view.

The location marketing company Landkreis Miesbach (SMG) had invited to the Waitzinger Keller in Miesbach for the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic.

A highlight of the business receptions are the award ceremonies.

This time the stage belonged to Beate Faus, Thomas Straßmüller and Steffen Herdtle – Florian Meier wasn't there.

They represented the test and vaccination center of the district of Miesbach and the website linientestung.de developed there - a successful pilot project for the whole of Bavaria.

"They also stand for the many, the colleagues and nurses, the BRKler and THWler, the helpers and supporters," said laudator Michael Pelzer.

Faus as head of the vaccination center, Straßmüller as its medical head and head of the district medical association, chief physician Herdtle as pandemic officer at Agatharied Hospital and Meier as medical pandemic coordinator faced the challenges with great commitment and simply tackled them.

"There weren't any concerns raised, the question was asked: How do we solve the task of protecting people?", Pelzer acknowledged.

Despite the enormous workload, the numerous helpers continue to work for the general public today.

Trust has grown from the great commitment, which Pelzer highlighted as a positive effect of the Corona crisis.

He encouraged people to trust in their own strength and stick together.

Innovation and improvisation, competence and skill as well as a high level of motivation were demonstrated by the winners and all those who represented them on the stage.

These are skills that are no less important in business.
