One person was killed and tens of thousands of people were without electricity due to a storm that swept through the Polish territory.
"One person was killed, 409 people were evacuated, and more than 39,000 people were left without electricity due to the storm that is passing today through the central and southeastern regions of the country," RIA Novosti news agency quoted the State Security Center in Poland as saying in a statement today.
For its part, the Rescue Authority announced the death of one elderly woman when a tree fell on her in the village of Billy Costiol, pointing out that the employees of the official and voluntary fire services are removing fallen trees blocking roads and draining water, noting that strong winds damaged the roofs of many houses.
In the Polish city of Krakow, the start of the football match was postponed due to bad weather.
It is noteworthy that in 2012 Poland witnessed similar storms, which killed two people and destroyed at least 50 homes.
