It is no coincidence that my brother, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, decided that his first state visit as President of the United Arab Emirates would take place in France.
On the contrary, this choice testifies to the solidity of the strategic links which exist between our two nations, on the political, economic and cultural levels.
Sheikh Mohamed was elected president on May 14.
He takes over from the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nayhan, who knew how essential it is to maintain friendly and warm relations with as many international partners as possible.
The arrival in France of Sheikh Mohamed is thus in line with the vision of his predecessor, pursuing the same objective of deepening productive and lasting relationships with those who share our values, for the benefit of all.
