Street festival in Vaterstetten slimmed down, response and atmosphere great

It was nice again, the street festival in Vaterstetten.

Even if it was a little smaller than before Corona.

This did not detract from the mood.

Vaterstetten - Finally a street festival in Vaterstetten again!

After several years in which the festival had to be canceled due to a pandemic or the weather, it was time to celebrate again on Wendelsteinstrasse on Saturday.

Although the festival was a little smaller than usual this time for organizational reasons - neither the playground of the elementary school nor the western part of Wendelsteinstraße were used - but otherwise everything was almost the same as before, including the large number of visitors.

A number of clubs were represented with attractive stands: the car sharers presented their new e-car, the photo club its open-air exhibition, with the amateur radio operators you could make contact with the big wide world and next door, while tinkering with electronics, you could learn how to use a soldering iron.

The community representatives for the disabled, together with the AWO, invited people to a trip to the wheelchair course and to the touch panel for the blind. At the senior citizens' advisory board, visitors could admire a wheelchair ramp made of Lego bricks and help build it themselves.

The community library sent the participants of their scavenger hunt across the entire street festival, and of course the partnership associations of Allauch and Alem Katema as well as the Peru association could not be missing.

Only the Trogir club was not represented this time, since many club members are on vacation in Croatia and therefore lacked the "manpower" for a stand at the street festival.

Children especially got their money's worth on the church forecourt with bungee, water polo and mini-train.

The culinary offer was varied and enjoyable, which was primarily provided by the local restaurants.

At the parish association there was cake in abundance, at the Baldham Boars the already legendary burgers and cool drinks were also sufficiently provided, which was also urgently needed in view of the warm temperatures.

The stage program was diverse, beginning quite traditionally with the Ammerthal brass band and continuing with performances by the music school.

The performance of ten fellow Ukrainians, who presented traditional folk songs from their homeland to the audience, was particularly acclaimed.

After that it got jazzy and funky with two Munich bands, who heated up the visitors until late into the night.

Only criticism: the waste.

While numerous stands were already successfully using reusable tableware and a deposit, others were offering their food in Styrofoam boxes, which soon caused the rubbish bins to overflow.
