After a three-year Corona break, the Brucker Altstadtfest has returned.
But visually and in terms of mood, everything was a bit different on the comeback.
Fürstenfeldbruck – The price of beer has also skyrocketed in the meantime.
The barley juice didn't really want to run at all.
Because the barrels, which were delivered uncooled, could not always be brought up to operating temperature in the initial sweltering heat.
The result was long queues and lost revenue.
Central Café host Mani Burian despaired, as did Anton Maletz.
The ex-president of TSV West was the chief tapper at the club stand.
His successor Andreas May estimated the loss of damage to the bar on the first Friday at up to 800 euros.
The mood was brought to high temperature late in the evening when the scandalous song of the year sounded on the Sparkasse stage: After "Rock-Wave" lead singer Raphaela Neumeier had intoned the first bars of "Layla", there was no holding back the audience.
"People dropped everything, got up and sang along," registered festival organizer Daniel Brando.
Banned elsewhere, Bruck's officials let the song run uncensored.
Only on the main street is there a lot going on
While the atmosphere along the main street boiled over the course of the tropical night as usual, the side streets that had been integrated into the party mile in previous years were somehow cut off from the hustle and bustle.
Unusual beer bench gaps have arisen, for example at the corner of the town hall towards Augsburger Straße and along Schöngeisinger Straße.
A number of shopkeepers and restaurateurs were no longer involved this year.
The main reason given was a lack of staff.
Already on Friday evening the masses streamed through the main street.

Pucher Strasse seemed even lonelier.
The celebration zone ends there after 30 meters and there is now no stage at all.
In any case, the stage program would have been even poorer according to the first plans in the spring if the landlords had not protested massively in the town hall.
Nevertheless: For safety reasons, there were fewer tables this year, and the rescue lane in the middle of the street was wider.
Atypical for the old town festival: the weather is perfect
The city was lucky with the weather this time.
On Saturday the line to the top was so perfect that a small shower only cooled the mood shortly before the bar closed at midnight.
Otherwise, the weather was so perfect that, despite the energy crisis, the colorful lights of the festival lighting were not switched off even during the day and shone like the sun.
The festival was opened on Friday by seven royally privileged firecrackers standing in the middle of the Amper Bridge.
Mayor Erich Raff limited himself to a few brief greetings.
Fest speaker Markus Droth, who sold and auctioned 150 found bicycles in front of the Auf der Lände building yard, had much more to say.
Interest was limited.
Only 40 bikes found new owners.
