Two rockets landed in the port of Odessa on Saturday, destroying port facilities.

This was announced by the Ukrainian army.

This video released by the Ukrainian military is said to show firefighters putting out fires in the port of Odessa.

The Reuters agency could not independently verify the recordings.

Russia had initially denied shelling the port, but announced on Sunday that a warship had been hit.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine: »Today's Russian missile attack on our port in Odessa is a cynical attack.

It was also a blow to Russia's own political positions.

If anyone in the world had said before that some kind of dialogue with Russia, some kind of agreement, was necessary - look at what is happening now.

Today the Russian caliber missiles have destroyed the possibility of such statements.«

Only a day earlier, on Friday, Kyiv and Moscow had agreed on a new grain deal through Turkey.

The grain silos in the port were not hit.

However, the government in Kyiv sees the attack as a threat to the deal and the safe export of the grain from the port of Odessa.

Ukrainian farmers face enormous challenges.

Oleksandr Chubuk, Head of the Farmers Union Ukraine: »We have no place to store our grain.

Those who have the ability and financial means to store their grain keep it.

Others simply sell at dumping prices and have no hope of ever being able to sow again.«

The head of the farmers' association, Chubuk, called for price parity in order to be able to buy fertilizer and diesel, which have become more expensive.

This is the only way for Ukrainian farmers to rebuild their production.

Ukraine is hoping for billions in revenue from the sale of around 20 million tons of wheat and corn.

To do this, they must be able to leave the ports safely in the next few days.
