An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale hit Dobrji, Fars Province, in the south of the country, without reports of injuries or material damage.
"The earthquake occurred at the confluence of latitudes 17.28 and longitude 34.55 degrees," IRNA quoted the Iranian Seismological Center as saying in a statement today.
A 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit the port of Khmer on Qeshm Island, Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, the day before yesterday.
