Daraa-Sana
A Malaysian tourist group visited the city of Bosra al-Sham today to enjoy the beauty of its archaeological sites and learn about its ancient history.
The Director of Tourism in Daraa, Yasser Al-Saadi, told SANA reporter today that the directorate is working to encourage domestic and foreign tourism, and in the first half of this year it received 22 tourist groups comprising about 145 tourists, most of whom are European nationalities, during which they visited the historical city, especially the theater, the castle, the bed of the king’s daughter, Hammamet and the Monastery of the Monk Buhaira. Bab Al-Hawa Street and others, pointing out that the Directorate, in cooperation with the Bosra City Council and the Department of Antiquities, provide visitors with all facilities and sufficient information about the city and its ancient history.
He pointed out that the follow-up of visits by tourist groups is a good indicator of the state of recovery of the tourism sector and is in line with the aspirations of the Ministry of Tourism in the field of developing this sector and the prospects for sustainable tourism development.
Bosra contains 45 archaeological sites inside and outside the old city.
