Love Field is one of two airports in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, the smaller but a favorite with residents being just 10 miles from downtown Dallas.

“We have just been evacuated due to what appears to be a shooting,” Max Gero, police chief of the nearby town of Rockwall, posted on social media.

"The TSA did a fantastic job," he added, referring to federal airport authorities.
