When the Tyrol resorts to block handling, the trucks increasingly use side roads in the Miesbach district.
This is now forbidden - and the police are checking.
district
– The trucks stand bumper to bumper on the autobahn when the Tyrol resorts to block handling.
It's that time again this Monday.
In the district of Miesbach, the consequences are increasingly being felt away from the A8.
More and more often trucks dodge the federal and state roads on their way to Austria in order to escape the hours of traffic jams.
From now on, at least that should be the end of it: as of today, the roads in the districts of Miesbach Rosenheim, Traunstein and Berchtesgadener Land are already closed to cross-border truck traffic on days with block processing away from the motorways from the respective junctions.
Prime Minister Markus Söder and Minister of Transport Christian Bernreiter (both CSU) announced this on Friday (we reported in the Bavarian section).
Several roads in the Miesbach district affected
In the district of Miesbach, the following sections are affected: the motorway junctions Holzkirchen, Weyarn and Irschenberg, federal roads 307, 318 and 472 and state roads 2010 (Miesbach-Leitzach-Au), 2073 (Holzkirchen-Weyarn-Miesbach), 2077 (Jedling-Leitzach). -Fischbachau) and the district roads MB20 (Mitterkirchen, Fentbach, A8) and MB1 (Aufham, Irschenberg, A8).

The measure is intended to prevent truck drivers who want to avoid the backlog when entering Tyrol from clogging up smaller roads off the motorway and causing chaos in neighboring communities.
According to Bernreiter, warning signs on the motorways should indicate the road closures in Bavaria.
However, the federal government has so far rejected a ban on leaving the motorways.
Police should control closures
The closure of the side streets is to be enforced by the Bavarian police.
According to Söder, additional police officers will be deployed in the region for this purpose.
Specifically, the police officers will check along the A8 and the A93, as the Vice President of the Oberbayern Süd Police Headquarters, Frank Hellwig, said.
Truck drivers who ignore the bans should be instructed and warned and escorted back onto the motorway by the police.
The drivers would have to reckon with a fine of 100 euros.
