The municipality of Moosinning is largely lifting the ban on dogs on municipal areas.

But there are exceptions - and the animals must be on a leash.

Moosinning

– The Moosinning municipal council has issued a new dog statute.

The trigger was a discussion in the previous meeting, in which the wish had been expressed that there should no longer be a ban on dogs in public parks.

This is not taken into account in practice anyway and is not necessary from the point of view of the municipal council.

However, there should be a leash requirement for dogs.

Until now, dogs in the municipality were forbidden to enter the municipal park or playgrounds, for example.

"If we want to change something, this can be done by means of a statute, but then only on municipal areas," explained manager Silvia Hermansdorfer.

In this context, Leo Brenninger (BE) suggested a dog playground, which does not yet exist in Moosinning.

Moosinning: From August 1st, dogs may enter communal areas

After a short discussion, the statutes regarding the ban on dogs in the community park between Sonnenstraße and Neuchinger Straße, in the leisure area, on the public playgrounds, in schools and kindergartens and in the community cemeteries were changed.

The only dissenting voice came from Helmut Scharlach (Bürgerblock Moosinning).

From August 1st, all dogs may now enter communal areas such as the communal park, playgrounds, streets and paths, but must be kept on a leash.

Dogs are still not allowed in the cemeteries all year round and in the leisure area at Moosinninger Weiher during the bathing season.

Dogs of any size must be kept on a leash

The leash obligation applies to all dogs of all sizes.

At the same time, the ordinance on keeping dogs, which previously stipulated the leash requirement for all dogs over 50 centimeters in all public areas, will no longer apply.

Another topic was hunting dogs.

In the model statute, hunting dogs are reduced by 50 percent, in Moosinning they are tax-free, Hermansdorfer noted.

She put up for discussion how it is if someone has several hunting dogs, is only one free?

"We shouldn't make it too complicated," said Andreas Eschbaumer (CSU).

Normally a hunter only has one hunting dog, a second if the first one is sick or too old for the hunt.

"Let's make all hunting dogs tax-free," interjected Mayor Georg Nagler (SPD).

This proposal was finally accepted with one dissenting vote from Brenninger.
