The Bavarian Red Cross Youth has put on a great spectacle in Moosburg over the past few days.

Ability was demonstrated and properly celebrated.

Moosburg

– The 300 best Red Cross juniors in Bavaria had twice as much fun at the state competition on the grounds of TSV Moosburg.

On the one hand, the state winners in four age groups were determined at eleven stations, on the other hand there was a birthday party for the 75th anniversary of the Red Cross Youth (JRK) in Bavaria.

The Moosburg local group and numerous helpers from the Freising district association proved to be the perfect hosts and provided a colorful supporting program and tasty food.

38 groups had qualified for the state finals in the district competitions and, together with two guest groups from Austria, were able to prove their skills on the three-kilometer course along the Isar on Saturday from 9 a.m.

A number of stations were set up there, at which, among other things, theoretical knowledge of first aid, general education, diversity and the Red Cross was required.

But also some practical exercises in first aid or in the construction of temporary carrying aids had to be completed.

The media interest in the major event with around 300 participants was great.

conveyed humanitarian values

The whole thing was divided into the four different levels Bambini (6 to 8 years), level 1 (8 to 13), level 2 (14 to 16) and level 3 (17 to 27) according to age.

In the afternoon, the musical and creative stations were on the program.

All stages were accompanied by referees who, like the injured extras and the group members, gave feedback immediately afterwards.

As JRK state chairman Kirk Thieme explained, not only objective criteria were assessed, but also cooperation and behavior in the group.

Because in addition to the well-founded training in first aid, it is important to the JRK to pass on central humanitarian values as orientation to the youngsters.

The community is also very important, according to Thieme, which is cultivated at events such as weekends.

All participants stayed in a tent camp at the TSV adjoining square and were catered for in a large, specially constructed marquee.

Simone Kehlringer, deputy youth leader in the JRK district association in Freising, was on duty with around 100 helpers from Wednesday to Sunday to organize the state competition in 2022: "It was great that so many from the district association helped.

But we would also like to thank the BRK department for technology and safety, the building yard of the city of Moosburg and the TSV for their support.” It was a pity, says Kehlringer, that the teams from the Freising district association were eliminated in the district finals and so there were no local heroes at the weekend start could be.

Big celebration of JRK's 75th birthday

That didn't dampen the mood.

At the festive evening, participants and helpers celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Bavarian JRK together with a large birthday cake and muffins.

The "Little Dream Hoppers" of Narrhalla Moosburg thrilled with their dance interlude, and at the obligatory awards, Valentina Riemann (Moosburg) and Gernot Schönfeld (Eching) received the JRK honorary pin in bronze together with a certificate.

On Sunday morning, the winners of the state competition were honored.

In the Bambini category, the "Stonewood Kids" from Erbendorf won, in stage 1 the "Rettungszwerge" from Sonthofen won, in stage 2 "Die Gummibärenbande" from Munich won and stage 3 was won by "Lisa's Gummibärenbande" from Weilheim.
