Mühldorf am Inn – On Sunday, a traffic accident occurred on a district road between Salmannskirchen and the hamlet of Berg (Mühldorf am Inn district), in which a pedestrian was seriously injured.

Drivers who happened to be passing by saw the man lying motionless on the road.

When passers-by discovered the seriously injured pedestrian in the Mühldorf district, they immediately alerted the rescue service and provided first aid until they arrived.

The police meanwhile assumed that the 23-year-old had been hit by a car and initially initiated investigations into unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident and negligent bodily harm against unknown persons.

The public prosecutor's office in Traunstein was also consulted.

As the police announced, the 25-year-old who caused the accident from the municipality of Ampfing finally reported two hours after the accident.

He was driving his car in a northerly direction and caught the pedestrian.

The corresponding signs of the accident were found on the car.

An alcohol test finally revealed a value of 1.1 per mille for the driver.

In consultation with the public prosecutor's office, the officers of the Mühldorf police inspection first secured the driver's license and the car of the 25-year-old who caused the accident.

Further blood tests were then carried out on him.

The driver is now being investigated for endangering road traffic as a result of alcohol, hit-and-run and negligent bodily harm.
