This evening, the activities of the third infidelity festival for poetry and zajal, organized by the Directorate of Intangible Heritage in the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Culture of As-Suwayda, began in commemoration of the battle of infidelity against the French colonizer.

The opening ceremony, which was held in the hall of the Charitable Society in the town of Al-Kafr, included the presentation of a film about the epic battle of infidelity written by fathers and grandfathers on July 21, 1925, which represents the first victories of the Great Syrian Revolution led by the Mujahid Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash after the revolutionaries managed to defeat the French occupation forces. Norman led in a very short time and incurred the heaviest losses.

Nabatean poets Adnan Alamuddin and Sanad Rakab presented a paragraph entitled Poetry of Zajal in the Eyes of Popular Poets, which included poems about the merit and beauty of both Nabati and Zajli poetry, with one of them evoking the epic of the Battle of Honor and Dignity in the villages of the eastern countryside of As-Suwayda in the face of ISIS terrorists on July 25 The year 2018 is commemorated today.

During the ceremony, he honored the Zajal poet Nassib Farhat, founder of the first and oldest choir in Suwayda, "The Mountain Choir" in 1989, which is the second in Syria after the Barada Choir, in addition to honoring the poets participating in the activities.

The Zajal poets from the countryside of Damascus, Jamal Zugheib, Hussein Shahada, Shadi Shaaban, and Ali Ataya performed a zajal artistic ceremony, during which they discussed the heroism of grandparents in fighting the aggressors, in addition to national, flirtatious and social themes.

In his speech, representing the Minister of Culture, Dr. Thaer Zain Al-Din drew attention to the importance of the festival, which was launched by the ministry three years ago, with a proposal from the Directorate of Culture of As-Suwayda, to commemorate the battle of infidelity and its exploits in honor of national values, heroism and defending the homeland, pointing out the importance of drawing inspiration from the legacy of the struggle, values ​​and principles of fathers and grandfathers in what is being exposed. his home.

Director of Culture in As-Suwayda, Laila Abu Fakher, pointed out that the festival comes within the framework of the responsibilities undertaken by the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Culture of As-Suwayda in perpetuating the exploits of the nation, literature, art and attention to heritage, to emphasize that the heroic legacy in our struggle history constitutes an important incentive for our poets and a great inspiration for a literary intellectual product that enriches the cultural movement .

In a statement to SANA's reporter, the poets Jamal Zugheib and Shadi Shaaban pointed out the importance of the festival in reviving an ancient Syrian heritage that can address the past, present and future, evoke the history and glories of the country, the heroism of its sons and their values, and simulate various people's affairs in a way that touches hearts.

The opening of the festival, which will continue over the next two days at the Palace of Culture in Sweida, was attended by a crowd of official, cultural and civil activities.
