The Treasury offered the teachers an outline for a new salary agreement, designed to end the labor dispute that culminated in strikes at the end of last school year.
The outline includes several sections, the main of which relate to the level of the basic salary, an increase in rewards given within the position, the addition of new positions and a persistence bonus after a period of three years.

The clauses of the proposed agreement
Teachers' salaries: According to the proposed outline, a teacher's salary in his first year will start at NIS 9,000 per month - an increase of about 30%.
Salary increases will be given to all teachers, at all levels of seniority.
However, significant prioritization of the agreement's resources will be given in favor of beginning teachers.
Increasing job remunerations: As part of the proposal, the job remunerations granted to teachers for the performance of core duties will be increased by up to 90%, so that the minimum amount to be paid for the performance of classroom education, concentration level and deputy principal duties (second and above) will be NIS 1,100 per month.
Adding new positions: It was suggested that administrators could create new positions, in accordance with the nature of the school, to which outstanding teachers could be appointed and who would be paid NIS 600 per month.
Persistence grants: A persistence grant of NIS 18,000 is offered after three years of teaching, an amount that reflects NIS 500 against each month.
