The residents of the community are delighted that the grammar school in Röhrmoos is scheduled to open its doors in September 2025.

Röhrmoos - 40 listeners came to the most recent municipal council meeting.

However, as the two-hour debate showed, the audience's desire to separate motorized traffic and future school traffic will probably not be entirely fulfilled.

As Mayor Dieter Kugler (CSU) explained, the district commissioned the Wipfler-Plan Köpf engineering office in Planegg to examine the recommended measures from the development concept more closely and to check them for feasibility.

For the important pedestrian route from the Röhrmoos S-Bahn station to the future grammar school site, the representatives of the engineering office present, Martin Endreß and Andreas Meyer, examined three variants in more detail and also determined the respective costs.

Traffic-calmed area at the Leiten

Variant 2 is recommended, which provides for a spacious traffic-calmed area on the Leiten up to the junction with Gartenweg, in which only walking speed is allowed and pedestrians and other road users have equal rights.

District master builder Georg Meier, Torsten Kohlmann, head of civil engineering in the district office, the mayor and the municipal council see this variant as the most conclusive solution.

In this way, a large part of the existing trees could be preserved.

The total estimated cost to the municipality for this area was 636,000 euros.

In addition, there are additional costs for the conversion of the intersection, which the district has to bear.

Building an underpass on the DAH 3 to open up school traffic, which would cost around 2 million euros even without the purchase of land, found hardly any supporters in the discussion in the municipal council, and also a 1.2 million euro solution without bored piles, but with the necessary ones large-scale excavation and month-long blocking of traffic could not inspire.

However, several municipal councils, across the parliamentary groups, missed the cost calculation of a transfer (bridge) of the DAH 3 in the height of Leiten.

Free voter councilor Schorsch Niederschweiberer was particularly persistent, saying "no" in several voting processes because, in his opinion, the planning office had not done its homework due to the lack of cost calculation for a bridge.

"Therefore no conclusive assessment can be made.

The plan must be supplemented and re-presented,” was his reasoning.

Deputy Mayor Arthur Stein said that the district could support the measures required to build a high school a little more.

Through cooperation with the SpVgg Röhrmoos, the district finally saves the construction of an expensive gymnasium.

However, the district has to dig deep into its pockets for the construction of the cycle path on Indersdorfer Straße and the redesign of Arzbacher Straße (2.2 million euros) as well as for a crossing aid in Großinzemoos (DAH 10, Rennweg, in the area of ​​the Hohlweg entrance) the 193 costs 000 euros.

The district covers these costs, the municipality of Röhrmoos is still “hanging” with 127,000 euros.

Costs for bridge solution

Because it was the express wish of the majority of the municipal council, the planners should still determine to what extent a bridge solution on the Leiten would be possible and sensible and what it would then cost.

The cost of these plans will be borne by the municipal treasury.

Such a bridge is only conceivable when the exact location of the high school building has been determined, but that will take a few months.

Because the time for opening up the grammar school to traffic is pressing, priority should be given to the necessary work for the spacious traffic-calmed area on the Leiten.

It was learned from the district master builder that when school starts in 2025, 800 children will not immediately switch to the Röhrmoos high school.

The majority of the students will come with the S-Bahn, an underpass construction is "cheese".

In his opinion, the variant that was decided on was the best solution for the children.

"We always try to regulate the flow of students, but we always fail because the children simply take the shorter route," emphasizes Meier.

According to Meier, a speed of 30 km/h on the DAH 3 near the high school is conceivable.

SPD municipal councilor Sabine Decker, who is the representative for people with disabilities, asked that children and young people with disabilities be considered during construction work and that tripping hazards be avoided.

Senior Citizens' Representative Burkhard Haneke (CSU) blew the same horn.

Kohlmann assured that attention would be paid to it.
