The government has announced the new list of awards.
Hong Kong representatives achieved great results in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics last year, and many athletes and coaches were named on the list.
Among the sports people, a total of 4 people were awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star, including Zhang Jialang, He Shibei, Li Huishi and the head coach of the cycling team, Shen Jinkang.
The Hong Kong team won a total of 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronzes at the Tokyo Olympics. The men's foil gold medalist, Chong Ka Long, the double-sided swimming silver medalist He Shibei, and the track cycling sprint bronze medalist Li Huishi were also awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star.

Olympic hero athlete coach receives Medal of Honor
Other athletes who won last year's East Olympics were awarded the Medal of Honor. The list includes Li Haoqing, Du Kaiqin and Su Huiyin of the women's table tennis team, the bronze medalist of the women's karate figure Liu Mushang, and the Paralympic team with Liang Yurong to win the hard rolling. As this year marks the 25th anniversary of the handover, the government has postponed the announcement of the award list in preparation for the celebration.
Former Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor was particularly pleased that more than 30 sports figures were on the list this year, "to commend Hong Kong athletes and coaches for their unprecedented achievements in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games and other major sports events".
