In view of the acute risk of forest fires in large parts of the region, Wolfratshausen's police chief is making an urgent appeal to the mayor.
Wolfratshausen – The forest fire risk index of the German Weather Service knows five warning levels – currently, level five applies in large parts of Bavaria, the forest fire risk is “very high”.
In view of the acute danger, the government of Upper Bavaria ordered another surveillance flight with the Bavarian air rescue squadron at short notice earlier this week.
Fireworks: Wolfratshausen's police chief turns to the mayor with an urgent recommendation
From the base in Königsdorf, the air observers flew for two hours over the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen as well as Penzberg, the Ebersberger Forest and the Schliersee region.
After fireworks were set off on Saturday at a wedding celebration in Irschenhausen (Icking municipality) (we reported), the head of the Wolfratshausen police inspection, First Chief Inspector Andreas Czerweny, sent a circular email to all mayors in the Wolfratshausen police department's area of responsibility.
Since some municipalities have approved fireworks in recent months, Czerweny asks that these decisions be reconsidered in view of the extremely high risk of forest fires.
Czerweny: "Our urgent recommendation is: Ban fireworks!
Because we all want nothing to happen.”
Wedding celebration in Icking: the municipal council is sticking to the ad
The large fireworks, which were ignited last Sunday night on the occasion of a wedding celebration in Irschenhausen, brought local councilor Dr.
Christoph Preuss not as announced by him in the municipal council meeting on Monday.
However, Preuss is sticking to his complaint about disturbance of the peace, according to the head of the Wolfratshausen police inspection, Andreas Czerweny, when asked by our newspaper.
According to Czerweny, he called Preuss on Tuesday.
"Now we will contact the organizer of the party, that is, the bride's father," announces the police chief.
