The Road Transport Branch in Hama Governorate has started the rehabilitation and maintenance operations of the Damascus-Aleppo International Road, which was affected by terrorism, within the Idlib governorate sector in the liberated countryside.
The director of the branch, Engineer Khader Fatoum, indicated to SANA reporter that 60,000 cubic meters of asphalt have been allocated to rehabilitate sections of the international road within the Idlib governorate, and the length of the distance targeted for its maintenance is about 71 km, starting from the city of Khan Sheikhoun to the city of Saraqib, passing through the city of Maarat al-Numan and dozens of villages located on both sides of the road. He pointed out that the rehabilitation operations will include the "going and returning" road runners and will focus on addressing longitudinal sections, especially the areas that have been sabotaged by terrorism.
Fatoum added that the international road witnessed intense commercial and traffic activity between the governorates of Aleppo, Hama, Damascus and Homs, and it is an artery that feeds the governorate of Aleppo, and that the Traffic Transportation Branch continues its efforts to maintain a good technical level in front of the transport movement.
