The Russian Ministry of Defense announced its intention to conduct the Vostok 2022 strategic maneuvers with the forces of the Eastern Military District.
The Russia Today website quoted the ministry as saying in a statement that the Vostok 2022 strategic maneuvers of command and personnel will be held from August 30 to September 5, 2022 with forces from the Eastern Military District led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
The statement added that airborne forces, long-range aviation and military transport aircraft, in addition to military units from other countries, will participate in these maneuvers, noting that training will be conducted to ensure military security in the eastern region during the maneuvers.
About 300,000 soldiers, 36,000 tanks and armored vehicles and more than 1,000 helicopters and drones participated in the Vostok 2018 maneuvers.
