The Directorate of Agriculture in Al-Hasakah governorate indicated that the vegetative reality of the cotton crop throughout Al-Hasakah governorate is good, and that the recorded insect infections to date are below the economic threshold.
Director of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate, Engineer Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the reality of plant growth is good in various areas of agricultural stability, and that the recorded infections of the almond worm in some fields in the regions of Hasaka and Qamishli do not exceed 1% of the total area planted with the crop, which is below the economic threshold even its history.
Bilal pointed out that the reality of the growth of the crop is distributed over the appearance of walnuts in the fruiting branches by 80 percent of the cultivated area and 20 percent the continued growth of the fruit branches, while farmers and peasants continue to water and irrigate the cultivated areas until mid-September, after which the harvesting operations begin.
It is noteworthy that the area planned to be planted with the cotton crop for the current season is 6754 hectares, and actually cultivated is 5910 hectares.
