Analog politics in a digital world Israel today

2022-07-27T12:25:30.050Z

With zero trust in politicians and a smartphone in every hand, it's time for us to take an active part in the Knesset votes, if only to maintain dignity • What's going on with the blue people? • And Dr. Ratova from the Netherlands

This endless political crisis is essentially a crisis of confidence.

The trust between the citizens of Israel and their representatives in the Knesset is broken.

After the last few years, no reasonable person would believe any promise from a politician.

We learned that everything is liquid, everything can be bought and sold and you can't trust anyone.

This is an extremely dangerous situation for the country, because the disintegration of trust between the people and the government will lead, God forbid, to the disintegration of the country as we know and love it.

The lost trust must be restored.

The public must be harnessed again to participate in political life.

It is not good for us that those who were once parties, and today are controlling corporations, will ask for our trust in the elections and then do whatever they want.

It's unlikely.

That's why I propose the next stage of politics - call it interactive democracy.

The friendship, in Hebrew.

A party that wants to restore the public's trust and follow this path, will announce that from now on every vote in the Knesset will be at the discretion of its voters.

Before every vote in the Knesset, there will be a vote on the app, the party's app, and whatever the public decides - the representative will do.

Of course, each representative will try to convince the voters in his own way, will make videos and run campaigns, but in the end he will vote as the voters tell him.

Each member of the Knesset on behalf of the party will sign a legal contract with the party and the voters that requires him to act according to the voters' instructions, or he will have to resign.

Voters will also have the right to vote for the dismissal of a Knesset member who does not represent them faithfully.

The voting public will consist of people who agreed with their signatures to the basic principles of the party, who voted for the party and paid membership fees.

No conferences, assemblies, bar mitzvah - simply a political virtual community that has a party in the Knesset.

Voters who behave in a way that the community does not like will be removed by a special majority.

Trolls will fly.

There is no reason for politics to remain analog in the digital age.

The public wants to be a partner, not an observer and sufferer.

An online party will make a revolution.

They will all come after her.

Who will have the courage to be the first to recognize the fact that democracy needs to go through CPR, in an app?

Netherlands

"You don't understand what a mess it was here yesterday," said the guy at the airport.

What words are sweeter than honey.

magic.

As I shared last week, my family and I put our lives on the line and went on a family vacation in the Netherlands.

The transition between the countries was a reasonable experience overall, except for the sandwich on the flight that reminded me of one that stays in a backpack during the entire school year and is found at the end of the vacation.

Well, complaining about a sandwich, that will be our troubles forever.

All airports were operating as normal, all services were provided, as usual.

Blessed is Israel flying with him.

We reached our destination.

A holiday village in the heart of the forest.

A small house among the trees, everyone on bicycles, green, cozy, calm, there is everything you need for a vacation with children.

Water park and climbing wall and paintball and karting and nature trips and everything.

pleasure.

And although it is not really expensive, and most of the vacationers here are from the middle class in the Netherlands, there are almost no Israelis here.

odd.

The reason, I suppose, is that there are endless rules here, and there is strict enforcement, and you must obey, otherwise the less pleasant faces of the friendly hosts are revealed.

For example, waste should be separated into three different bins.

If you didn't separate, the waste police will come to you with a fine.

They rummage through bins.

An average Israeli family that law is not their hobby - will suffer a lot here.

I went with my daughter to the water slide.

gliding

Suddenly a man approaches me with wide eyes.

"Can I see a swimmer's certificate?", what?

"Do you have a swimming certificate for the girl?", no.

I do not have.

Not even a walking certificate.

I don't walk around with these kinds of certificates now.

"Then the girl can't be in the water," he said and took her out.

After the drama it became clear that there is a law, which says that those who do not know how to swim wear an orange belt, and those who do - a red one.

And the girl accidentally took an orange belt.

As soon as it changed to red, the man calmed down, and went on his way.

At night he came to me in a nightmare and demanded to see a sleep certificate.

And I ask myself - where am I more comfortable: in a place where there is a law for every action and uncompromising enforcement, and everyone is kind and considerate and stand in lines and see the others - but above all hovers some cloud of excessive and paralyzing rigidity;

Or is it better for me in the Land of Israel, where no law is enforced, and keeping it is a non-binding option, and there is general frowning, and aggression, but there is also freedom to round corners, and take risks, and laugh out loud, and live?

The matter is clear now.

When I know, I will enact a law accordingly.

promise to enforce.

tattoos

I'm standing and dripping in the water park, in line for another slide with my children, and my eyes meet people.

After a period of time I realized something: most people are blue.

tattooed

The fashion of tattooing the whole body, which once belonged to a few particularly tough and even more bored sailors, has spread to the entire white man population and turned him into the blue man.

The amount of people tattooed from neck to ankle with hundreds of small drawings, which connect to a large blue stain, is very huge.

It is possible that it is no longer possible to call the whites by this name, and in fact this is what the Creator meant when he said - your seed is a blue locust that is on the shore of the sea.

Here, a lot of blue.

I deeply research people's tattoos, I have hours to burn in a comfortable chair, and see that there are those who have tattooed beautiful paintings on their skin, which must mean something emotionally important to them, but most of the blue people have paintings on their skin at the level of the classmate who paints more beautifully than me did to me.

Paintings that I put on the fridge for a week, and come on, on their way.

Probably never enacted.

I believe that the body is the temple of the soul.

If my soul chose to breed in my temples, I must nurture it as much as possible, keep what I received, treat with respect this wonderful creation that is my body.

In my eyes, getting a tattoo with a whimsical decision, without thought, with an amateur execution, is like doing graffiti on the Wall.

It is a temple and it is a temple.

I sat next to one, tattooed from the toes.

I asked about the tattoos.

I imagined he would take me on a journey through his tattoos, like an old slide show.

This is from the trip to Madrid, and this is a souvenir from the other spouse who repaired it and now it is a butterfly, and the skull in memory of his father, the lock, the angel, and all the small illustrations that make up the story of his life.

But instead he answered me - "It's private, it's not acceptable to ask" and clicked mute.

Go understand the new world, which wants to be seen but refuses to be revealed.

And I also sometimes feel like tattooing something.

Some sign to remind me to live now or some important memory.

or a crying crocodile.

But the thought of doing something that will stay with me until I die scares me.

Because maybe I will develop to a level where I don't need to decorate my body and accept myself as perfect?

This is how I was created, I respect it and don't change a thing?

Maybe.

A beautiful, accurate, well-placed tattoo, with a strong message, does it for me.

Blue wallpaper all over the body seems excessive to me.

Probably a sign that I'm older, young people today are like that.

And one day it will end, and the blue generation will be the older generation, and another day the last of the blue people will die.

And a small commercial tip - whoever invents tattoos for dark skin in light to phosphorescent colors will receive a Nobel Prize.
