The president of the LREM group in the Assembly, Aurore Bergé, called on the three majority groups to "loyalty", after a first disagreement.

The president of LREM deputies, Aurore Bergé, called on Wednesday for "loyalty" between the three majority groups, after being questioned about the voting positions of the Horizons group, the party of former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.

“I consider that the loyalty that must be ours between the three groups must hold whether it is at the start of the mandate, in the middle of the mandate or at the end of the mandate,” she said to the Association of Parliamentary Journalists.

On Saturday July 23, the Horizons group had approved, against the advice of the government, an amendment providing for aid of 120 million euros to the departments to compensate for the revaluation of the RSA (Active Solidarity Income).

This is the first time that these allies of the majority have marked their difference.

What cut the sweet friendship between the presidential party and that of his former head of government.

But this situation "contributes to the Republican debate".

Invited on France Inter this morning, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno the Mayor, however, insisted on the cohesion of the three political groups, demonstrated within the hemicycle.

For him, the adoption of the second part of the law on purchasing power overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, made it possible to strengthen the cohesion of the majority in the face of the opposition: “the Horizons group, MoDem and Renaissance (…) , all three showed a unity during these debates that was absolutely exceptional”.

Horizons wishes to "assert itself" more

According to a source within the executive, there has been a "willingness for affirmation" from Horizons, to be "better taken into account as a group of the majority".

The Horizons allies and the MoDem “perhaps” had the feeling that they “benefited from less attention” in this complicated start to the legislature for the Marconists, in the absence of an absolute majority.

"Whatever the ambitions of each other for the future, they will only have a future if this mandate has succeeded", insisted Ms. Bergé.

"It is on this that we will be judged collectively, before knowing who could tomorrow be a candidate for the presidential election", continued the deputy of Yvelines, in an allusion to Edouard Philippe, to whom some lend ambitions for the election. presidential election of 2027.

"I think there will be a severe judgment (of the French) for those who have demonstrated a personal ambition too early to the detriment of the collective", concluded Ms. Bergé.
