There are many corona failures in the district clinic, which is why there are fewer patient beds available.

BRK and fire brigades also have sick people.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – The seven-day incidence in the district has been well above the 500 mark for weeks.

In many companies there is an acute shortage of staff because employees have to remain in isolation due to a corona infection.

The emergency services in the district are not immune to this.

They too complain about failures – and try to come to terms with the situation.

Because of Corona: lack of staff in clinics and rescue organizations - bed capacity reduced

In the district clinic in Wolfratshausen, for example, “the personnel planning, but also the bed capacities, have to be adjusted every day”, reports managing director Ingo Kühn when asked by our newspaper.

The situation is tense, "we are currently registering high staff shortages due to corona diseases."

The new wave of infections poses “major challenges” to everyone involved.

So far, however, the clinic and its staff have been able to cope with everything well: "In particular, the nursing staff, doctors and cleaning service are now, as in the past, very committed and do their best." This commitment also has a downside: the clinic management has observed "that the past two years of the corona pandemic have drained all employees".

Holidays and relaxation are important for employees right now.

The district clinic is groaning under the corona pandemic – rescuers also have failures

The so-called AHA rules continue to apply in the district clinic, and mouth and nose protection is also mandatory.

"In areas with increased hygiene requirements, the FFP2 obligation still applies," says Kühn.

The paramedics from the Red Cross also wear gloves and masks.

There is a lot of work for the volunteers - and this is not only due to emergencies to which the BRK has to respond.

Also because the Corona regulations have been relaxed, there is a lot to do.

"Now many clubs are catching up on their big celebrations," reports the head of Wolfratshausen's on-call service, Wolfgang Tutsch - and some of them have Tutsch's colleagues booked for the medical service.

"On this weekend alone, the helpers had to look after five events." Much more is not possible - "not because so many colleagues would be absent,

but because we don't have any more vehicles at our disposal".

so goof.

BRK in the corona pandemic: "We have several sick people"

Nevertheless: The current infection process does not leave the BRK untouched.

"We have several cases of illness - about as many as the population average," explains the on-call manager.

The volunteers try to protect themselves when they are on duty, for example by wearing a mask when in contact with patients.

"We've been wearing gloves and using disinfectants for years - even before Corona." If the rescue services are called to a patient who has been proven to be infected or where there is suspicion, "an epidemic gown and full face protection are also provided for use".

Fire brigades and Corona: Operational capability is not in question

The district fire brigades have so far come through all corona waves - without their operational capability having suffered as a result.

That's what the spokesman for the defense, Stefan Kießkalt, says when asked by our newspaper.

The Eglinger emphasizes: “The comrades know what responsibility they bear and everyone is aware that the risk of infection is still there.” Nevertheless, the volunteers naturally also have a social life.

“As long as festivals and celebrations are allowed, they are also allowed for us firefighters.” The military is currently having to deal with isolated cases of illness, but can make up for the absences.

Kießkalt emphasizes: "We were and are ready for any operation." The fire brigade proved this during the storm on Tuesday night - the volunteers had over 140 operations.
