How should Neufahrn develop in the coming years?

In order to remain liveable and attractive in the future, the municipality wants to create a model.

Citizens should help.

Neufahrn

– In order to remain an attractive municipality, the Neufahrn municipal council wants to “define goals and provide orientation”.

Therefore, in the meeting on Monday, it was decided to start a process after involving all stakeholders - above all the citizens - and with the moderation of the urban development office Planwerk, at the end of which there should be a model.

Twelve areas defined

There are enough subject areas in which a municipality can become active in order to ensure a prosperous future.

In Neufahrn, the municipal council has now agreed on a dozen such areas, including goals and principles: urban development, generations and social affairs, transport/mobility, economic development, energy, education and culture, development of the districts, environmental protection, population development, finance, digitization and Leisure time and clubs are on the agenda when you start to develop a mission statement for the community.

Goals and principles have also been formulated for each subject area.

As far as urban development is concerned, the community wants all sections of the population to have attractive living space now and in the future.

And because we stand for the appreciation and cohesion of all generations and all people, a diverse range of social offerings should make the community worth living in and fit for the future.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In terms of mobility, the formulated principle is as follows: “It is important to reconcile all requirements for sustainable and future-oriented mobility and to create a high level of compatibility.

The community would like to reduce the negative effects of traffic and thus maintain the quality of life despite high accessibility." Another goal: "The community of Neufahrn wants continuous economic development that is compatible with the community and that balances economy and ecology." Against the background of the In the face of climate change, the municipality sees itself “as an obligation to make its contribution to climate protection and to use energy resources responsibly and sustainably”.

In the districts one wants to preserve the "village identities".

The municipality of Neufahrn is also committed to sustainable financial action, which does not burden the following generations with disadvantages due to excessive debt or investment backlogs.

Heumann recalls the SPD application from 2012

In the debate on this, the speakers from all factions emphasized how important such a handbook, guide and orientation aid is for the municipality and the municipal council.

The tenor: So be transparent where the community wants to go.

SPD municipal councilor Maximilian Heumann pointed out, however, that the SPD parliamentary group at the time had already submitted an application for the creation of such a model in 2012.

At that time, the application was still with 5:16 voices and went down without a sound.

Ten years later things looked different, the creation of a mission statement including goals and principles was decided unanimously.

How does it go from here?

Here, too, the timetable was approved: the goals and principles of the subject areas are presented to the public in digital citizen participation.

There is an opportunity to suggest further topics and to supplement the goals and principles with suggestions for measures.

The results will be discussed in a public workshop, probably in November.

All citizens are invited to actively participate in the creation of the Neufahrn community's mission statement.

A summary of the results will be presented to the municipal council for the final decision on a vision - in December 2022 or January 2023.
