Hama, SANA- The activities of the Dr. Wajih Al-Baroudi Festival for Poetic Creativity, which is held by the Directorate of Culture, kicked off today

The activities of the Dr. Wajih Al-Baroudi Festival for Poetic Creativity, which is held by the Directorate of Culture in Hama, kicked off today at the city’s Culture Palace theater.

The Director of Hama Culture, Sami Taha, gave a speech during the opening, in which he spoke about the importance of the festival to activate the cultural movement and its positive repercussions each year, and the brilliance that it frequently receives with the participation of poets and writers from different governorates.

He stressed the importance of poetry in upgrading the aesthetic sense and the role of the Ministry of Culture in celebrating creativity and aesthetic taste, expressing his wish that this year's festival would constitute a new addition in the fields of literature and thought, as it reflects the renewed cultural situation among the people of Hama.

The writer Mustafa Al-Samoudi presented literary illumination on the creative aspects of the poet Dr. Wajih Al-Baroudi and poetic readings by the writers Radwan Hazwani, Majed Karout and Hassan Arbash.

The activities of the festival, which will continue until the 31st of this month, include poetry evenings by a group of writers and poets, in the cultural centers in Hama, Suqaylabiyah, Salamiyah and Salhab.
