When do Hartz 4 recipients get the money from the job center?
24hamburg.de offers an overview of payment dates in 2022 – including bonuses, increases and special payments.
Hamburg – The month is coming to an end and money is running out: this is a common problem for many Hartz IV recipients in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.
Because the ALG 2 standard rate does not allow the recipients of basic security and their families much leeway.
During the Corona crisis in particular, many households were burdened by unexpected expenses such as corona tests.
Many are therefore eagerly awaiting the next referral from the job center.
But when exactly is the payment from the Federal Employment Agency due?
A look at the dates can help with budgeting.
In 2021 there were grants for Hartz IV recipients.
The beneficiaries were granted a corona bonus by the city of Hamburg and the federal government to cushion the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
For children from Hartz IV families, the parents received a free time bonus to compensate for the burden.
By the way: It is also known when Hartz IV recipients will receive the subsidy of 100 euros from the government's new relief program.

It is not yet known whether these payments will be made again in 2022.
What is certain is that an increase in the child supplement has already been decided for 2022.
In addition to child benefit, families with low incomes now receive 209 euros per child instead of the previous 205 euros.
In addition, the Hartz IV standard rate will be increased by 0.76 percent for recipients of unemployment benefit II, basic old-age security and social assistance.
Spouses and partners even get 3 percent more.
Chief Executive of the Parity Welfare Association Ulrich Schneider called the Hartz 4 increase in 2022 sheer mockery.
Hartz 4 payout 2022: When will Hartz 4 come for January 2022?
Unemployment benefit II or Hartz 4 for January 2022 will already be paid out in December 2021. This means that the increased 449 euros will already be paid out on Thursday, December 30, 2021.
Is that enough?
Trade unions and social organizations have been denouncing a Hartz IV poverty trap for a long time.
In view of rising gas prices and rising electricity prices in particular, the standard rate, which many Germans believe should be around 811 euros, seems far too low.
Unemployment benefit 2 payment dates 2022: When will Hartz 4 be paid out?
The Hartz IV standard rate is transferred regularly.
The Hartz funds are paid out in advance for all entitled beneficiaries.
According to Section 42 of the Social Security Code II, the unemployment benefit II (also ALG II or ALG 2) is usually transferred to the bank account on the first working day of the month for the current month.

But there are exceptions: If the first day of the month is a public holiday or falls on a weekend, the job center will transfer you earlier.
This regulation should actually make the money available to Hartz recipients at the beginning of the month, as reported by 24hamburg.de.
In some cases, the money comes from the employment office at the end of the month.

Hartz 4 increase will come as early as January 2022
For single people, the Hartz IV standard rate will be 449 euros from January 1, 2022 instead of the previous 446 euros.
Couples receive 404 euros per partner within a community of need, provided that the benefits are not sanctioned and reduced due to omissions.
For young people under the age of 25 who still live with their parents, the standard rate is 360 euros.
And for recipients between the ages of 15 and 17, the Hartz 4 increase in the standard rate is 3 euros to 376 euros.
Children between the ages of 6 and 14 who live with single parents are entitled to 311 euros instead of the previous 309 euros.
Since there are also Hartz IV recipients without an account, it is possible to receive payments from the job center by check.
Benefit recipients can then redeem this at the payment points of Deutsche Postbank and Deutsche Post to have the money paid out in cash.
The additional costs for this process will be deducted from the Hartz IV rate.
Alternatively, withdrawals can be transferred to someone else's account.
The social assistance recipient does not have to be the account holder.
Hartz 4 bonus and special payment 2022: When will the payment come?
In addition to the increase in the child supplement, which is automatically paid out if a child supplement has already been approved, no further bonuses have yet been decided by the government for 2022.
There is only one corona bonus for employees, which employers can pay out tax-free.
And that despite the insane inflation rate and skyrocketing cost of living.
Those who are entitled to housing benefit can look forward to an average increase of 13 euros.
One can only hope that the federal government around Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) will soon switch to the supposedly more social citizen's income.

It is unclear how long the Hartz IV rules will remain in place.
In addition to a broad alliance of associations and trade unions, the Greens and the SPD are also pushing for a reform of the agenda policy, also because experts consider the standard rate for denying everyday things, such as shopping for a decent meal, to be far too low.
However, the CDU has so far stood in the way.
But maybe the balance of power will change after the federal election.
But for the time being, the payment will continue in this form.
