Homs..more than 2.8 billion pounds from the investment budget of local road projects

Engineer Iyad Abdel Karim, head of the Roads Department in the Technical Services Directorate in Homs, indicated that work has begun to rehabilitate and maintain local roads in various regions of the governorate, in addition to constructing new roads, pointing to the total appropriation for road projects in the investment budget for this year, which amounts to two billion and 820 million pounds.

As for the most important road projects that will be rehabilitated, Abdul Karim explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the works began with the project to rehabilitate the Al-Masida road (shifts) on the surface of the Afrit, at a total cost of 147 million Syrian pounds, in addition to the project to rehabilitate Al-Diba Road - Homs-Damascus Highway at a cost of 23 million Syrian pounds. Maintenance of Al-Hawash Road, a first phase, with a contract value of 61 million pounds.

He added: A contract was signed to rehabilitate the Al-Hawash-Nazareth highway towards Al-Mazaina, a first phase worth 59 million pounds, and the maintenance of Umm Al-Dawali Road, Umm Al-Mays, a second phase, with a value of 55 million pounds, in addition to the maintenance of the Al-Muhafara-Shain road, a first phase, with a value of 60 million pounds, and the Talchanan-Al-Shatayeh road as a phase. A second stage, worth 34 million pounds, and the Kamam-Qatina road, a first phase, worth 43 million pounds.

With regard to road construction projects, Abdul Karim indicated that the directorate is following up on the implementation of projects to construct the Al-Masida-Al-Haythmiya road, at a cost of 99 million pounds, while the contract was signed for the implementation of the Al-Madaba’ Al-Rawda road project, a first phase, at a cost of 57 million pounds, and the Jabriya-Al-Mashrifa road, a second phase, at a cost of 46 million pounds.
