A group of patriotic songs, chants and muwashshahats presented by the participants in the Lyrical Poetry Forum organized by the Directorate of Culture on the stage of the Arab Cultural Center in Kafr Sousa.
The forum, titled Templates of Arabic Music in Lyrical Poetry, reviewed the types of lyrical molds and the most important poets who wrote the song, in which poets Abdul Rahman Al-Halabi and Jamal Al-Qujah participated in it, in addition to the Eastern Takht Ensemble led by the artist Badi Al-Baghdadi.
The lyric poet Abd al-Rahman al-Halabi started the forum by talking about the types of lyrical molds, which he divided into four sections, which are the muwashshah, the hymns, the monologue and the national songs.
The poet Jamal Al-Qujah also indicated that the first Syrian song appeared five thousand years ago and was revealed in Ugarit, reviewing the most prominent names of the song’s poets, including the poet Omar Al-Halabi, the son of the city of Damascus, who has more than 2,000 songs in his credit, in addition to the poets Nizar Qabbani, Nazmi Abdel Aziz, Issam Junaid and others.
The Eastern Takht Ensemble presented the muwashshah “I Hold My Heart” by the Aleppo poet, in addition to monologues and chants that carried a human and sentimental character, with the voice of the artist, actor Basil Fattal, in addition to the monologue of the fez presented by the members of the Damascene House Ensemble.
