Penzberg - Will Penzberg still have a folk festival?
The city is negotiating with a landlord who would fill in for the canceled event.
Surprisingly, the city of Penzberg and its long-time festival host Christian Fahrenschon officially canceled this year's folk festival on July 14th.
The Penzberger Wiesn should have taken place on the Berghalde from August 26th to September 4th.
But the landlord had not gotten enough staff, it was said to justify.
A replacement seems to have been found at City Hall.
According to Rundschau information, a festival host from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district has agreed to hold the festival at short notice.
A local brewery would provide the beer.
Same period, same place
On Tuesday evening (July 27th), Mayor Stefan Korpan (CSU) confirmed in the city council meeting that they were “in final talks” with the innkeeper and the brewery.
On Thursday (July 28th) they want to sit down again, and then the execution should be reported.
"It's looking very good," says Korpan optimistically.
The landlord signaled that he could handle the event.
"Staff is not the problem," the mayor had learned.
The Penzberg folk festival would take place at the same time as the canceled variant - i.e. from August 26th to September 4th.
Senior afternoon in limbo
The program is still unclear.
Above all, according to Korpan, it is not certain whether the popular senior citizens' afternoon can take place given the short organizational time and the logistical effort.
SPD city councilor Regina Bartusch advocated not canceling the afternoon - one could involve the Penzberg senior citizens' advisory board, she suggested.
PM city councilor Markus Bocksberger explained that clubs had already contacted him and signaled support for the festival: "There is a lot of willingness to help."
