Leung Chuan-xin, son of former Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying, booked an airline trip to Japan for him and his family last year, but someone entered his account to change his information, including ordering 24 more in-flight meals and changing his name to "Leung Shit".
The airline found it unusual and an investigation revealed that a former ground staff member had made changes to Liang's account.
The former ground worker pleaded guilty to the crime of mutilation in the Eastern District Court today (27th). When he was arrested, he said that he wanted to trick Leung Chun-ying. When he pleaded for mercy, he also mentioned that it was an interesting prank at the time.
Chief Magistrate Yan Shunyi adjourned his sentencing until August 10, pending a report on a probation and community service order.
The defendant, Lai Siu-hong (24 years old, part-time employee of a convenience store), pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage, alleging that he destroyed or damaged a computer belonging to Hong Kong Express Airlines without legal excuse in Hong Kong on about December 24, 2019.

Ordered 24 in-flight meals for Liang Chuanxin
The facts of the case allege that Liang Chuanxin booked a round-trip air ticket for him and his family to Japan in December 2019.
However, a few days after Liang arrived in Japan, HKExpress staff found that Liang's return order had some unusual and unpaid booking requirements, such as 24 meals, 5 luggage allowance, and other unusual operations included: selecting preferred seats. 5 times, photocopied the itinerary information 5 times, changed the name of Liang Zai's passenger information to Leung Shit, and another record shows that someone tried to pay the above fee with wrong credit card information 5 times.
HkExpress subsequently conducted an internal investigation and found that the operation involved was sent through the Internet service at the defendant's residence by tracing the IP address.
Defendant worked as an airline ground handler
The defendant and man B were both employed by HKExpress as ground staff, and had left their jobs at the time of the crime.
On December 23, B, a man who served as ground crew, learned of Liang's arrangement to travel to Japan. After dishonestly obtaining relevant flight information, B shared the information with the defendant and others through a WhatsApp group.
The defendant logged into Leung's reservation account with a mobile app the next day and made the above changes without Leung's permission.

Change the menu as a trick
The defendant was arrested on January 24, 2020. He cautioned and said: "I am always a fun-loving person for a while, first log in to the HKExpress app with a Reference, and then change his menu to trick them." He said in the meeting record He also said that he just wanted to play a prank on Liang's father (Leung Chun-ying) and make him bear the extra cost.

The defense pleaded that the defendant lived with his parents, and his mother had breast cancer, which later metastasized to the fourth stage of bone cancer.
In order to take care of his mother, the defendant resigned from the ground work he was interested in in 2019. He committed the crime just for fun, and at the instigation of his friends, he thought it was a "funny prank". Now he regrets it very much. I hope the court will consider the incident.
