The e-Citizen Service Center announced today that the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Technology, launched the service of granting a new passport and renewing a passport through its electronic portal.
The center indicated, according to what it published on its Facebook page, that this service is only available for a passport from inside Syria with multiple priority “regular-urgent-immediate”, pointing out that the treatment of a passport from outside Syria is in the hands of its relatives “relatives authorized to apply and approved according to the laws of the Immigration and Passports Department/ It is carried out in the Department of Immigration and Passports in all its branches.
The Center indicated that requests related to this can be submitted through the website or by downloading the Muamalat app, and more information can be found through the services guide on the center’s website.
In a statement to SANA, the Director of the Citizen Service Technology Directorate at the Ministry of Communications and Technology, Eng. Samer Yamani, stated that the number of bookings installed on the center’s platform, which began work on the 7th of this month and until the 23rd of it, amounted to 54,298 internal and external bookings, indicating that the number of accounts created for this purpose. It reached 48,050 electronic accounts.
And about the procedures after confirming the reservation and paying the fees electronically, Yamani stated that the citizen residing inside Syria can go to the Immigration and Passports branch that he chose according to the specified date to complete the required documents. By them according to the specified date, accompanied by the identification papers to complete their transaction.
According to Yamani, those for whom an appointment has not been set should review the Immigration and Passports Department in its branches in the governorates directly to obtain the form and pay the fees in order to obtain the passport, explaining that the mechanism for informing citizens of their reservations to obtain a passport is done through a text message that reaches the applicant.
Yamani pointed out the possibility of entering the website of the citizen's service center or applying my transactions and seeing the date in the transaction notes, which is considered a final date for receiving the passport from the immigration and passport branches in the governorates.
