French authorities evacuated a village and two factories today due to the outbreak of a forest fire along the Ardèche River in the southwest of the country.
Reuters quoted the mayor of La Villedio, Gerard Socles, as saying: The fire broke out on an area of 750 hectares and expanded very quickly due to strong winds, which prompted the authorities to evacuate the village of Faraj and two factories in the town of La Vellidio and camping sites, as well as an animal shelter where 450 firefighters are working to put out the fire. and the evacuation of the population at risk.
And this month, forest fires broke out in more than 20,000 hectares in the southwestern Gironde region, where France and the rest of Europe witnessed record-high temperatures.
