In turn, the Secretary-General of the Union of Lebanese Arab Writers Elias Zgheib saluted Syria's steadfastness against all that it has been exposed to and is subjected to, pointing out that the presence of the Arab countries in it is a tribute to the Syrian people and to its writers and intellectuals, adding: We in Lebanon know very well the meaning of struggle and wars in the face of conspiracies being hatched against our peoples. And our land, expressing his hope that the voice of Arab writers and writers will be the voice of the living Arab conscience.
The Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Writers, Murad Al-Sudani, said: “Despite the siege that Damascus is subjected to, this moment comes from Arab writers to break the cultural siege and respond to all the plaintiffs who want to undermine the Arabism and steadfastness of this people who not only defended Damascus but also The whole Arab nation,” adding that the presence of the Palestinian delegation is to participate in this act that we must always root for, and that we can only be on the side of the resisting intellectuals so that the flag remains high and lofty.
The writer Hikmat Al-Zoubi from Jordan spoke about the importance of reconvening the Arab Writers Union meeting in Damascus after the difficult circumstances it was exposed to. The Jordanian delegation's participation came through a delegation that includes poets and researchers to talk about Arab issues and the challenges of terrorism, and this confirms that Jordan adheres to its Arab and national dimension.
Saud Al-Hasani, First Secretary at the Omani Embassy, pointed out the importance of this meeting, which Damascus is hosting, by uniting the Arab ranks, expressing his happiness at seeing a beautiful and healthy Damascus, and calling on all writers, intellectuals and writers all over the world to visit Syria, which was and will remain the beating heart of Arabism and a basic base for Arab culture.
As for the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen in Damascus, Abdullah Ali Sabri, he saluted the Arab Writers Union for choosing Damascus for this meeting, stressing that Damascus and Arabism are twins, and that the message that emerges today from Damascus is a message of Arabism and the message of the Arab intellectual, writer and writer aligned with the nation’s fateful issues.
Sabri said, "We count a lot on the role of Arab intellectuals and writers, as it is imperative for the Arab intellectual to carry the banner of liberation, dignity, sovereignty, and the banner of enlightenment and awareness, and to pave the way for a better future for this nation within the framework of its unity and solidarity of its peoples and the victory of its various causes."
