The Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Writers, Murad Al-Sudani, said: “Despite the siege that Damascus is subjected to, this moment comes from Arab writers to break the cultural siege and respond to all the plaintiffs who want to undermine the Arabism and steadfastness of this people who not only defended Damascus but also The whole Arab nation,” adding that the presence of the Palestinian delegation is to participate in this act that we must always root for, and that we can only be on the side of the resisting intellectuals so that the flag remains high and lofty.

The writer Hikmat Al-Zoubi from Jordan spoke about the importance of reconvening the Arab Writers Union meeting in Damascus after the difficult circumstances it was exposed to. As for the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen in Damascus, Abdullah Ali Sabri, he saluted the Arab Writers Union for choosing Damascus for this meeting, stressing that Damascus and Arabism are twins, and that the message that emerges today from Damascus is a message of Arabism and the message of the Arab intellectual, writer and writer aligned with the nation’s fateful issues.
