The MVV regional bus route 468, which connects both parts of Poing, is currently no longer running.
Reason: lack of staff.
It hasn't only existed since Corona, reports a bus operator.
Poing - It was a wish that was often mentioned by the municipal council and administration: a regional bus line that connects both parts of Poing.
In December 2021, such an MVV line was introduced with the number 468 - but it has not been running since the beginning of June.
Due to lack of staff.
This was announced by a spokeswoman for the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) at the request of our newspaper.
It is currently not foreseeable when operations can be resumed: "The municipality of Poing as the responsible authority and the MVV are in consultation with the transport company in order to find a timely solution."
Poing: Line 468 should be maintained
According to the MVV spokeswoman, the general shortage of bus drivers has worsened in recent months.
Illness-related absences during the pandemic would have exacerbated the situation, which had been tense for years.
"These circumstances have led to an acute shortage of staff at the transport company, which unfortunately cannot operate the line for this reason at the moment."
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)
According to the MVV, there are no considerations to completely discontinue line 468.
The temporary failure is exclusively due to the lack of drivers "and has nothing to do with the planning of the regional bus service in the municipality of Poing".
Poing: Another bus line affected
According to the timetable, line 468 runs to the following stations Monday to Friday every half hour between 6.15 a.m. and 8.07 p.m , Poing-West, Claudiusstraße, Böhmerwaldstraße, Mitterfeldring, S-Bahn station Poing-Süd.
The MVV regional bus route 459, which has also only been in existence since December, is also affected by staff shortages and cases of illness.
It connects Poing with the underground station Messestadt Riem, the line is also extended to Hohenlinden every hour.
There are failures between Poing and Messestadt Ost, the Hohenlinden route will continue to be served.
Bus operator demands conurbation allowance
Many bus companies - also in the district of Ebersberg - are currently affected by staff shortages.
In an interview with our newspaper, Josef Ettenhuber, bus operator from Glonn, explains that the problem has been around for years.
Unlike the city of Munich and other cities in Bavaria, there is no conurbation allowance for bus drivers in the Ebersberg district.
As a result, many - especially those recruited from abroad - would leave the region for better-paid areas.
In addition to this deficiency, there would be cases of illness (due to Corona, among other things).
"Fortunately, we can still compensate for it," says Ettenhuber.
Nevertheless, he demands that the collective agreement be changed.
That is why the working group of transport companies in the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV-AV) wrote a fire letter to Ebersberg's District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß.
He is spokesman for the MVV districts.
