Three months after the Gazan attack on the evening of Independence Day in Elad, today (Thursday) Shai Ben Shlomo (38), a resident of the city who was mortally wounded in the attack, was released from the hospital.
Ben Shlomo returned to his home standing on his feet and hugging his children.
At the entrance to his house, a number of people and boys from the municipality were waiting for him, who welcomed him with singing and balloons.
Ben Shlomo was in the park with four of his children on the evening of the attack.
The terrorists attacked him with machetes and seriously wounded him in the head.
Fortunately the children were not hurt.

He was taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, where he underwent surgery, was sedated and ventilated.
After a week and a half without consciousness, Ben Shlomo began to regain consciousness and communicate with his family members.
He later moved to Tel Hashomer Hospital for rehabilitation.

In the severe attack, which was carried out by the terrorists Asad al-Rifa'i and Subhi Abu Shakir, three people were murdered: Yonatan Habakkuk and Boaz Gol, residents of the city, and Oren Ben Yeftah, a resident of Lod, who drove the terrorists to Elad, when they told him that they were workers renovating the synagogue in the city.
After carrying out a murder spree with axes, the two terrorists fled to the Samo forest in Elad.
There they were caught after several days.
