This is particularly interesting against the background of the changes that have gone through the Israel Hayom newspaper since the removal of the previous editor Boaz Bismut and the new line taken by the newspaper

Contrary to what is happening on television, Israel is enjoying a moderate increase in the rates of exposure to newspapers and listening to the radio - according to the TGI survey published today (Thursday) and reflecting the first half of 2022 (January-June).

In an annual comparison between the periods: July 2021 - June 2022 and the previous year: July 2020 - June 2021, it is possible to notice stability and recovery in exposure and listening rates compared to the peak of the Corona period when a decrease in media consumption was detected.

In a half-yearly view, Israel Hayom clearly leads with 28.3% exposure, but is down from a figure of 30.5% in the previous half.

Yedioth Ahronoth records a decrease in exposure to 20.0% - compared to 22.5% in the previous half.

Even in this view, the gap between the newspapers is clear.

In the weekend press, Israel Today drops to an exposure rate of 29.1% in January-June 2022 compared to 31.3% in the previous half.

Yedioth Ahronoth also recorded a significant decrease to 26.2% - compared to 28.9% in the previous half.

On an annual level, Israel Hayom continues to lead with a 29.4% exposure rate for an average weekday issue compared to 27% during July 2020 - June 2021. The exposure rate for Yediot Ahronoth is 21.2% on an average weekday during July 2021 - June 2022 compared to 22.9%, during July 2020 - June 2021. This is particularly interesting against the background of the changes that the Israel Hayom newspaper has undergone since the removal of the previous editor Boaz Bismut and the new line taken by the newspaper.

Even in the weekend press, today Israel is increasing the gap at the annual level from a minimal lead (27.8% versus 28% for Yediot the previous year) to a significant lead with a gap of 30.2% versus 27.5%.

The exposure rate of Yedioth Ahronoth during the last year is 27.5% compared to 28.0% in the previous period.

According to the current survey, the gap between the weekend newspapers in annual terms is significant.

The country maintains its strength, the West leaps forward

In general, according to the current survey, the total exposure rate to daily newspapers on a weekday is 42.9% reading weekday newspapers and 49.9% reading weekend newspapers compared to the previous year (July 2020 - June 2021) in which the reading rate was 41% on a weekday and 48.3% on the weekend.

Among the other daily newspapers, the most prominent is Ha'aretz, which maintains its strength on weekdays (with a slight decrease from 5.1% to 5% in the median) and increases on the weekend from 5.5% to 6.4%.

and Maariv - which jumps from 4.3% to 5.5%.

On an annual basis, the two newspapers are closer than ever with 5% for Haaretz - and 4.9% for Maariv.

In the economic press: red lights

The Marker drops from 6.1% to 5%, and Globes drops from 4.3% to the lowest exposure rate for an economic newspaper in Israel of 3.8%

With the issue of the cost of living in the background, which is grabbing headlines, and perhaps precisely because the other newspapers are also covering the issue - the economic press as a whole records a decrease in the last half.

Calcalist, which apparently also carries the NSO scandal with it, drops from 11.9% to 10.5%, The Marker drops from 6.1% to 5%, and Globes drops from 4.3% to the lowest exposure rate for a financial newspaper in Israel - 3.8% .

However, on an annual level, De Marker and Calcalist show a nice increase from 4.5% to 5.5% (De Marker) and from 10.3% to 11.2% (Calcalist).

Globes, on the other hand, shows a decrease from an average of 4.2% to a figure of 4%.

On the radio: Here it continues to grow stronger at the expense of Glatz

On the annual level - 103 continues to climb and present the highest jump among all radio stations in Israel with an increase of over 20%, and maintains its strength in relation to the previous median with 10.3%

As mentioned, the annual radio listening rate also increased in the current median - on an average weekday to 65.1% compared to 61.5% in the previous median.

In annual terms, the "Kan"/Voice of Israel stations recorded a slight increase in the overall listening rate to 36.3% compared to 36.2% in the previous period (July 2020 - June 2021).

The Galach stations (IDF Waves and Galgaltz) recorded an increase to 38% in July 2021 - June 2022 compared to 37% in the previous period.

In half-yearly terms, the corporation's stations rose against Glatz and Galgaltz (decrease) while the group's listening rate stands at 37.5% in January - June 2022 compared to 35.1% in July - December 2021.

And what about the two-headed struggle of the current affairs stations of the public broadcasting: Network B returns to the familiar numbers - 21.2% (up from 18.9%) and Gali IDF In contrast, it drops in the current median from 20% to 19%.

In the regional sector: at the annual level - 103 continues to climb and present the highest jump among all the radio stations in Israel with an increase of over 20%, and maintains its strength in relation to the previous median with 10.3%.

The gap between it and the other regional stations (which are on the 2-5% axis) puts it more than ever in line with the national stations Glatz and Reshet B.

In the prominent music stations: Galglatz drops from 27% to 26.6% (median) and here Network C from 14.8% to 14.5%.

Molen, the regional Radio 99 jumps from 9.4% to a record of 11.1% and stands (next to 103) at the top of the regional radio stations, bypassing national music stations like here 88 along the way.
