Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
The Israeli occupation has escalated its repressive practices against Palestinian journalists in an attempt to obliterate its daily crimes against Palestinians, their sanctities and their property.
Wafa Agency quoted the Palestinian Prisoner Club as saying in a statement today: The occupation forces continue to pursue and target journalists by shooting bullets and poison gas bombs, assaulting and arresting them, as part of its policy aimed at obliterating the truth and silencing mouths to cover up its daily crimes against the Palestinians, indicating that 13 journalists are in occupation detention. They are subjected to the worst types of physical and psychological torture.
The Prisoner Club renewed its call on international human rights organizations to seriously intervene to put an end to the continuous violations of the occupation against journalists, including systematic arrests, and to guarantee their right to exercise freedom of opinion and expression.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, the International Federation of Journalists and the International Center for Justice for the Palestinians had filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court regarding the systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation.
