Kranzberg's Mayor Hermann Hammerl has given some thought to the energy transition.

He ran through the "5 H" rule for wind turbines for his municipality.

Kranzberg

- Everyone is talking about climate change and the energy transition.

District Administrator Helmut Petz even proclaimed the “Decade of the Energy Transition” for the district of Freising.

The 10H regulation for wind turbines that applies in Bavaria is likely to fall soon.

All of this prompted Kranzberg's Mayor Hermann Hammerl to "play" something, as he put it, and to take a close look at the municipal area under the specifications of a 5H regulation.

After all, if the energy transition that has been decided on is to succeed by 2035, the district still needs many PV systems, but also some wind turbines, as studies have shown.

In Kranzberg, wind turbines would only be an option in the state forest when applying the 5 H rule

Hammerl presented the results of his investigation to the municipal council on Tuesday.

If you take into account all the towns, districts and hamlets and draw circles around them that correspond to a 5H rule - i.e. with a radius of about one kilometer - then the only area where wind turbines would theoretically be possible remains the state forest in the north-east of the municipal area.

If small hamlets were not taken into account in this approach - just as little as residential development in the neighboring communities - there would be even smaller areas in the south-west and north-west.

Then, however, and before that the head of the community warned urgently, one would differentiate between "first and second class citizens".

In addition, he could not say to what extent restrictions by the airport had to be observed, the head of the town hall noted.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Hammerl's considerations, for example, brought CSU local councilor Franz Braun to the scene.

His attitude is clear, he said: There are other forms of renewable energy - such as PV systems.

"We don't need a wind turbine."

Local councils advocate “better to put photovoltaic systems on the roofs”

Georg Neumair (FWG) took the same line: Before thinking about building wind turbines, it is better to “put photovoltaic systems on the roofs”.

There is still a huge problem, as he had to experience first-hand: In addition to many bureaucratic obstacles, there are often problems with the network operators, which make installing such systems on one's own roof either difficult or uneconomical.

Hammerl, in turn, could only confirm this: Because of the grid operator, it has still not been possible to connect the large PV system on the new multi-generation house in Kranzberg to the grid.

Something had to be done, there was a need for relief, something had to be changed “in the system”, emphasized the mayor.
