Mansour Abbas at an event in the culture (Walla system!)
Ra'am Party Chairman Mansur Abbas participated today (Saturday) in a cultural event in Ramat Hasharon hosted by Tal Schneider, during which a woman from the audience claimed that the party's associations support terrorism.
Abbas replied to her in response that "If I were sitting in Bibi's coalition, you would not have made this claim at all."
Also, at the end of the event, a right-wing activist spat at Abbas's car as part of a demonstration against him.
During the event, a woman in the audience claimed that the associations of the Ra'am party transferred funds to the Hamas organization in Gaza. In response, Abbas said that "Israel is a state of law.
The professionals did not find any fault in our activities and in the activities of the Islamic Movement." Abbas then attacked and told the same woman that "You have raised a lot of money to try to blacken the face of the Islamic Movement and Ra'am. You will not succeed."
According to Abbas, the Islamic movement is "a political body that has been promoting for decades an initiative of religious peace, and understanding and acceptance of the other between Jews and Arabs."
Abbas added: "If I were sitting with Benjamin Netanyahu in his coalition, you wouldn't even make this claim. Do you think he negotiated with me without doing an investigation?"
At the event, Abbas was also asked if he sat in the government with Benjamin Netanyahu.
In response, he replied that he "doesn't rule out anyone else on a principled level and accepts Jewish society as it is."
However, he said that he hopes that the current government will succeed in obtaining 61 mandates and will be able to "continue and give hope to all the citizens of the country".
"Comrades, this is the first time that parties from the far right and the butt of the left are sitting together," Abbas added.
"The presence of Ra'am in this formation made possible the hug between Meretz and Yamina, which is very important, friends.
If for a moment someone thinks
that I have no values and I will go with whoever wants me, they are very wrong. I don't disqualify anyone, whoever disqualifies themselves disqualifies themselves."
While Abbas started to leave the parking lot, one of the protesters approached the car and spat on the window.
