The Greens chairman Omid Nouripour is still feeling long-term consequences of his infection with Sars-CoV-2 many weeks after recovery: "Since my corona disease three months ago, I have suffered from dizziness several times a day," he told the newspapers of the Bayern media group.

»Long Covid is a problem and we would do well not to take Corona lightly.«

He spoke out in favor of enabling mask requirements both in hotspots and nationwide.

"I advocate that both are possible in an emergency," he said.

"If the situation worsens, you have to be able to react nationwide." Nouripour described a new corona wave in autumn as "foreseeable".

Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) and Justice Minister Marco Buschmann (FDP) have been discussing the corona rules in autumn for weeks, because the Infection Protection Act expires on September 23.

In the spring, general mask requirements for events and when shopping were abolished, as were access rules such as 2G and 3G.

The rules will probably tighten again in the fall – but Lauterbach is currently emphasizing that he does not want to make any specific statements about the ongoing negotiations.

This time he will not divulge anything.

This week he promised an agreement "soon".

And then he chatted a bit: "There will no longer be the possibility of school closures." Buschmann had also previously emphasized to the newspapers of the Funke media group that the effectiveness of masks for individuals indoors was undisputed.

"That's why some form of wearing masks indoors will certainly play a role in our concept.

We are already working with mask requirements in local public transport," he said.

Nouripour now said about the future content of the Infection Protection Act: "Hopefully it won't come to that, but in an emergency it must be possible for the countries to be able to react to the infection with mask requirements, distance regulations and other measures." And further: "Otherwise we have not just a crisis in the healthcare system, but also noticeable staff shortages in business and administration.«
