Minister of Industry Ziad Sobhi Sabbagh discussed today with the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman participating in the Fourth Conference on Cement Industry 2022, ways to develop industrial and commercial cooperation between the two countries and coordinate the export of industrial products produced by small projects in Syria to Oman.
Minister Sabbagh pointed to Syria's desire to expand cooperation with the Sultanate in the industrial fields and to enter new investments into the industrial sectors, especially cement, given the need for it in the reconstruction phase.
Sabbagh pointed to the importance of opening new markets for Syrian industries in general and increasing the volume of trade exchange with the Sultanate, explaining that the ministry, in coordination with various concerned authorities, is working to sponsor and support small family projects that produce foodstuffs with the aim of creating new investment markets for them and supporting their export.
The representative of the Omani delegation Saud bin Ali bin Hamad Al-Rawahi pointed to the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially after the completion of the formation of the Syrian-Omani Business Council, pointing to the Omani side's interest in investing in and importing Syrian cement and food industries.
The meeting was attended by Gabriel Al-Ashhab, General Manager of SimTech Group, which is organizing the Fourth Conference on Cement Industry Technology 2022, which was held on the 26th and 27th of this month at Al-Sham Hotel in Damascus.
