Uri Zaki, chairman of the Meretz board, announced this evening (Saturday) that he will contest in the primaries for a place on the party's list for the Knesset.
Zechi has been a prominent activist in Meretz for the past 20 years.
In the past, he served as CEO of B'Tselem USA, chairman of Meretz Youth and chairman of the party's presidency.
According to him, "My past as a right-wing person, my background and my lifestyle have made me a kicking, brave and unique left-wing voice. One who knows how to fight for the path of the left and one who receives appreciation and support even among audiences who are not among Meretz's classic voters. We must increase the circles of support and that It starts with choosing representatives who can connect additional audiences to Meretz's ideological path, those who belong with us but are not yet with us - I know how to do that."
