Rabbi Yitzhak Tovia Weiss, the senior leader of the "Eda Haredit", the most extreme ultra-Orthodox movement, passed away last night (Saturday) at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
Tens of thousands are expected to attend his funeral, which will take place today at 10:30 in the capital and will bring with it roadblocks and heavy traffic in the area.
The funeral march left his home in Givat Moshe, through the neighborhood of Mea Shearim, Sultan Suleiman, and up to the cemetery on the Mount of Olives.
Rabbi Weiss, 95 years old, was recently hospitalized after his condition deteriorated.
Last night his children, family members and close students said goodbye to him saying 'Shema Yisrael' near his hospital room.
Rabbi Weiss is known by his nickname Gabod, the initials of Gadol Av Beit HaDin, since 2003 he has led the anti-Zionist coalition of courts concentrated in Jerusalem, and under his leadership are thousands of ultra-Orthodox families, including in Beit Shemesh. In his life he was a signatory to a long series of struggles in Jerusalem , with an emphasis on the protests against the opening of the Karta parking lot or against the arrest of the "Mother HaMariva".

The police are preparing with increased forces for the funeral procession.
Jerusalem District police officers and police reinforcements under the command of Jerusalem District Commander Superintendent Doron Turgeman will take part in the security and traffic directing tasks.
The police called on the driving public to avoid arriving in the Jerusalem area unnecessarily and to obey the police officers' instructions.

The roads that will be blocked today
All roads leading to Shabbat Square in Jerusalem.
Haim Bar-Lev St. along its entire length in both directions from the national headquarters to the IDF Square and all the roads leading to it.
The streets in which the funeral procession will move - Neviyim, Nablus Square, Sultan Suleiman, Rockefeller and the Mount of Olives.
The roads will be opened for traffic according to the progress of the funeral procession.
Commissioner Kobi Shabtai conducted a telephone assessment of the situation ahead of Rabbi Weiss' funeral, and addressed the challenges of the police in an event of this type and the control and safety aspects of the event. He emphasized the required sensitivity on the part of the forces working for the funeral event, along with minimizing the damage to the fabric of life of the residents of Jerusalem as much as possible.
MDA forces are also preparing for the funeral journey, with intensive care vehicles, ambulances, MDA emergency motorcycles, ATVs and foot medic squads. The MDA asked to avoid urgency and emergency situations, not to climb fences, balconies, buildings and roofs, to stock up on water and obey the instructions of the ushers and the security forces.
