Two dead women were discovered in a room in a shelter in Offenburg on Saturday.
Police and prosecutors said investigations had been launched against a woman in her mid-40s on suspicion of a homicide.
The suspect made the emergency call around 12:15 p.m. and informed about the previous act.
Offenburg – The police discovered the bodies in the room occupied by the woman, as a spokesman said.
The identity of the dead was initially unclear.
"According to the current state of knowledge, these are attributed to the woman's family environment, where a possible motive is also suspected." The suspect was arrested without resistance.
She is in police custody.
The public prosecutor's office is examining the application for an arrest warrant.
