A Kaufland customer presented a proud yield of empties.

He published his deposit voucher online – but there were even more blatant cases.

Munich – Many consumers have to do their shopping regularly.

Groceries are bought so that the fridge in the four walls at home is well stocked.

There are plenty of them in Rewe, Edeka, Kaufland, Aldi, Lidl and other stores.

Customers usually leave their money in supermarkets and discount stores.

But sometimes the expenses are offset by income.

If you bring your returnable bottles back, you get paid out with the ticket from the machine at the checkout.

Or the amount is at least offset against the expenses for the rest of the purchase.

Kaufland customer proud of his deposit receipt - "My monthly salary picked up"

A customer of the supermarket chain recently went to a deposit machine in a Kaufland branch.

He had accumulated plenty of empties, and the yield was correspondingly high.

He posted two photos on Reddit: one showed two bulging garbage bags with empty deposit bottles, the other the deposit receipt that had just been "spatted out" by a Kaufland empties machine.

The user titled his post with the following words: "Proudly picked up my monthly salary." The deposit voucher was worth a total of 20 euros.

The sum was divided between a whopping 67 non-returnable and 24 reusable bottles - so the customer pushed a total of 91 bottles into the machine.

Maybe that's why another Kaufland branch is currently testing a new empties machine that can hold up to 100 bottles at a time.

"Straight 20!

Impressed, good catch," another Reddit user, meanwhile, said.

Another user only scoffed at the use of the word monthly salary in connection with the deposit voucher, which was probably not meant to be taken seriously: "A real big earner."

Empties vending machine: Employees “always have a huge job” with large returns of returnable bottles

With his 20-euro deposit voucher, the Reddit user and Kaufland customer is indeed just one of many among the "big earners of empties".

It is also much more blatant, as another case shows.

A Kaufland customer with more than 100 returnable returnable bottles imagined himself to be an empties god.

But another Kaufland customer easily topped this with an incredible deposit of over 400 euros.

A man was left with the return of his empties, which he recently handed in at Rewe, for just under 300 euros.

However, this did not go down particularly well with the Rewe workforce, since paying a deposit on this scale “is always a huge job”, as one employee said.
